We are now just days away from our annual Shubzda Lake Bash. What started as a way to celebrate Jimmy's 60th birthday has now turned into a yearly gathering and has gone from just a day to a full weekend packed with sun, water, games, and food. For the attendees it is a pack up the car and bring a side dish kind of occasion. For us it it the same stress, chaos, planning, baking, shopping ect. that goes into Christmas.
I am actully in planning mode about January when we try to find a date that accomodates 27 people. That in itself is HUGE! And it simply is not fun if we cannot all come. We don't seem to be able to match up any holidays anymore but we do all make it in June.
So this week I am busy tying up loose ends, making sure everything is in perfect order...just like Christmas. It is that need to overdo that seems to be part of my make up. Truth be known, no one cares if the family has monogrammed towels, party decor, and endless baked goods. But, I do.
Last weekend was a clean up the house, check out all the watercraft, trim the hedges, spruce up the deck kind of time. All complete...CHECK!
This week is food and my last minute check list. Time to test out some new recipes, look over the grocery list and shop one last time. It is massive...but seriously I would not have it any other way.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
