Saturday, Part II.........

After a quiet lunch and the mandatory glass of wine, we were off on the bus to explore the Sacre Cour (Church of the Sacred Heart) and Montmarte.
Believe it or not this group of senior citizens...most of them over 70 and some well into their 80's,
moved with an energy that embarrassed me.
No one slowed down in this group, and when we arrived and found out that the yearly wine festival was bringing thousands of visitors, we were not detoured.
How do you get 45 tourist up the steps that were packed with the locals?
You follow the blue umbrella (dead center).
First part of our visit was to explore the interior of Sacre Cour.

Another amazing church finished in the early 1900's.  Only the Eiffel Tower sits higher in the city than this church. The view from the steps over the city of Paris was fantastic.

Next, move our group of over 40 through the streets to view all of the activity on the Monte because of the wine festival.

This is where I wanted to shop!!!!
Such unique stores and artists everywhere.

What we discovered about the people of France is that they do not grocery shop.  They buy their food each morning...or maybe even before each meal.  They do not amass the freezers full of food that we do as Americans.  Fresh fruits and cheeses were prevalent everywhere. No wonder their bodies do not look like ours.
As long as the man with the blue umbrella was in your line of sight you were on the right track!

The bus ride back took us through the racier side of Paris....
because who would want to miss a row of erotic shops?

And finally, the Famous Moulan Rouge.
All of this in one day and still dinner and visiting until the wee hours of the morning on our agenda.
We are a hearty bunch!

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
